LAPAN Nominated in Sinta Award 2018

The Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education for the first time held the Sinta Award 2018. The event took place at Auditorium D, Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education Office, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (04/07). In this award, LAPAN was chosen as the 4th nominee of the 5 nominees awarded as the Institutions with Highest Publication Productivity for Non-University Research Institute Category.
Sinta Awards was started with the re-launching of four excellent programs, namely Sinta itself, National Journal Accreditation (Arjuna), Digital Reference Guard (Garuda), and Indonesian Science Journal-House (Rujukan). Grant aid was given in the event, as well as publications and journals incentive which is divided into nine categories. The event ended with the announcement as well as the awarding of Sinta Awards to the institution, author, and manager of journals that are classified into 20 categories.
In his report, Director General of Strengthening Research and Development, Muhammad Dimyati conveyed that Sinta Award was initiated to give appreciation to lecturers, researchers, institutions, and journals that have shown tangible achievement in the improvement of publications and scientific journals.
According to him, the publication, especially scientific journal, is one of the means to disseminate the results of research so that it can be widely known. Sinta or Science and Technology Index presents as an information system to answer the challenge in the field of publication.
In his speech, The Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, Mohamad Nasir said "This electronic application built to facilitate the publication of data and other scientific works so that the performance of such can be measured."
Sinta officially launched on January 29, 2017, in Yogyakarta. Nowadays, Sinta wants to show its reputation by Sinta Awards as a booster for the performance of the researchers.
LAPAN has just listed two journals to the Sinta application, the Journal of Aerospace Science (JSD) and International Journal of Remote Sensing and Earth Sciences (IJReSES) on May 08, 2018. "It is hoped that the other two journals can be immediately put into the application. Also, LAPAN can build other journals to encourage aeronautics and space researchers in producing written research," said The Head of Public Relations Division of LAPAN, Jasyanto.
Such event was attended by The Prime Secretary of LAPAN, Erna Sri Adiningsih. She hoped that the nomination will be the encouragement for LAPAN researchers to contribute to developing LAPAN programs and activities.
